Think you've got what it takes to rock the mic right? Trivia Mafia is always on the lookout for great hosts.
Fun fact: Trivia Mafia LLC runs multiple types of bar games - Trivia Mafia (this is the Classic, original flavor, two-hours-eight-rounds game) and The Initials Game Live (our newest lil’ bruddah, born of an entirely platonic partnership with Cory Cove of KFAN fame, that’s two-hours-three-rounds-of-five-initials). We also send hosts out to run Private Events for clients like Target Corp, Minnesota Vikings, Prepare + Prosper, Activision, and your favorite cousin’s wedding.
Can you pronounce “archipelago,” engage a crowd, correct all comers, handle hecklers, and run a fun and inclusive event in a timely fashion? You just may have a future in the trivia business. You needn’t be good at trivia (we will give you all the answers), but experience in public speaking and/or performing for a crowd is a big plus. Being reliable, staying friendly, and finding solutions on the fly are key traits! Oh, and you might have to carry a PA or work a janky sound board sometimes, just FYI.
Our staff includes teachers, actors, engineers, zoologists, parents, single cat ladies, former Jeopardy! contestants, recovering jocks, and some regular people, so you’ll probably fit right in. We hire people with a wide variety of identities and beliefs. We ask our hosts to treat all players and customer staff with respect and courtesy, and do all we can to ensure a safe and equitable environment for our employees in turn.
Trivia Mafia pays new hosts $18/hour for 2.8 hour shifts, and offers PTO/Sick-Safe Time, which accumulates every 28 hours worked (or, every ten shifts). In most cases, hosts are assigned to a single site to run the same shift and build up a great rapport with our customer business site and the players there, but we encourage people to pick up extra shifts as a sub for others as well. We accept applications on a rolling basis and keep them on file for ~6-12 months. Email us with any additional questions or to follow up on a previous application!

WHO WE ARE
Trivia Mafia is a thriving trivia operation based in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, staffed by impassioned and creative trivia-lovers and driven by a mission to create the world’s best trivia experiences. Founded in 2007 as a single weekly trivia night, Trivia Mafia has grown into a nationwide network of bar/brewery trivia nights, themed quizzes, trivia tournaments, private trivia events, and online/virtual trivia experiences. We think there’s too much bad trivia in the world and we’re fixing to do something about it. We believe that everyone knows something, so we just have to ask more questions to find out what.
WHAT WE’RE ABOUT
Trivia Mafia is the Midwest’s largest producer of live trivia events, and we continue to grow every day. We have big dreams, but at our core we’re still a small company. Our team is creative, hard-working, independent, self-motivated, and adaptable. We value strong opinions and elastic imaginations, and strive to create a workplace of respect, trust, support, curiosity, and good humor. We want Trivia Mafia to grow hand-in-hand with our team’s careers. Did we mention we’re small? The top brass are also getting their hands dirty in the day-to-day work.
We don’t think trivia is trivial. We want to reimagine what a trivia company can be and can do in a weird and changing world, and we want to work with people who are as passionate as we are about spreading our love of knowledge, connection, and lifelong learning far and wide.
