Trivia Mafia is looking for a Sales & Area Manager to join our team in the Midwest - Milwaukee and Des Moines, to be specific!

As the world’s greatest trivia company moves toward actual world domination, we would like to have local experts who can become the basis for new company cultural centers, starting with developing a city where we currently have a toehold.

The SAM will be a person who recruits both customers and coworkers, supports businesses and hosts, and is generally excited about wearing lots of hats. (Need not look good in hats.) Our focus is on quality over quantity, balancing growth with sustainability.

Duties include:

  • Providing ongoing support as the primary point of contact for existing customers. Ensuring customer satisfaction as it relates to host/player feedback, marketing support requests, adding theme nights, and house sound compatibility/PA management.

  • Following up on inbound inquiries from new, prospective customers of Trivia Mafia Classic bar trivia and Initials Game Live games in the region.

  • Researching new outbound leads in and around the region.

  • Conducting site visits, phone conversations, and email communications with leads. Closing contracts and confirming all operational needs to ensure successful event starts.

  • Supporting local hosts and developing the team through recruitment and training. Sub-hosting when needed, potentially.

  • Collaborating with marketing and other admin team members to deliver the best customer experience.

Helpful attributes:

A high level of self-direction and accountability, to work independently and remotely.

A background in sales or customer service is prized, but not required.

Good communication skills, willingness to learn new systems, facility in jumping between platforms (i.e. email to Slack to text to Airtable) and maintaining consistent tracking of a given situation/conversation.

Reliable access to transportation, and reliable access to phone, internet, and a personal computer (laptop or tablet feasible).

Ability to store, transport, and set up PA equipment weighing ~45 pounds; any limitations to doing that work must be disclosed for evaluation on appropriate accommodation.

A sincere appreciation for the joy of trivial games played in bars.

Other deets:

The SAM role will report to our Sales & Account Director (his name is Sam, funnily enough). It is technically fully remote, but living in the Albuquerque metro area is required in order to perform site visits and other on-the-ground support. Trivia Mafia will provide ongoing training, regular check-ins, and opportunities to contribute to process improvements. Regular video meetings will be scheduled.

This role will have flexible hours, starting at 8-10 hours per week with the potential for more as the position grows.

Our starting rate is $20/hour + commission for all outbound sales. We offer Sick & Safe Time/PTO accumulated at 1 hour per 28 hours worked, to be used at the employee’s discretion for any reason.
